Bet you didn't know you could experience Piemontese food and wine in an elegant restaurant in the heart of the Langhe without spending your entire monthly salary. Well you can. At Le Torri.

Le Torri restaurant is located in the medieval village of Castiglione Falletto, at a little more than one hour drive from Torino. The village is a hidden gem of the Langhe region, the suggestive hills surrounding the town of Alba in Piemonte, in the heart of the Barolo Wine production area.
The town
Castiglione Falletto is a village of 700 people at 20 minutes from Alba, the Piemontese town renowned for its wines and the world's finest truffles. The village became of importance in the Middle Ages when its castle was built. The two towers of the medieval fortification still dominate the town's main square. The high position of Castiglione Falletto, overlooking the Langhe, offers visitors a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.
The restaurant
Le Torri is a family run restaurant with elegant dining rooms and a balcony that offers an outstanding view of the Langhe's vineyards. The owners' twenty years of experience working in restaurants and hotels of the region reflect in the excellent management and service. My advice is to come here for lunch. The restaurant is perfect for family events, special occasions and romantic getaways.
The menu
Le Torri's menu includes recipes from the Piemontese tradition slightly revised. The high quality of the ingredients is masterfully enhanced in flavorful and beautifully presented dishes. Le Torri's chefs manages to offer a unique culinary experience that still respects the authenticity of the local cuisine.
The restaurant offers a rich Tasting Menu of dishes of the finest Piemontese tradition at 38 €.
The meal starts with a complimentary appetizer: an olivier salad with homemade breadstick. Appetizers à la carte include:
Vitello Tonnato, thin cold roast beef slices with homemade tuna mayonnaise
Battuta di Fassona, pure and simple Fassona beef tartare
Salsiccia di Bra, a sausage of raw seasoned veal meat so tasty that is the only Italian food to have ever been protected by a royal decree
Fried poached egg in Castelmagno fondue with porcini mushrooms and black truffles
My choice of pasta is usually either Ravioli del Plin, small-sized filled homemade pasta dressed in a roast sauce, or Castelmagno cheese gnocchi.
Talking desserts, you cannot go wrong with a traditional chocolate bonet, but the Panna Cotta with berry coulis and blackberries, or the peach and chocolate mousse cannolo are exquisite alternatives.
Le Torri has a wide variety of local and foreign wines. My choice was La Monella, a sparkling Barbera with hints of red fruits and cherries, produced in the Braida cellar in Asti, Italy.
